Four years ago, before the Court pissed people off by overturning Roe and being flamboyantly corrupt all the time, a @takebackthect.bsky.social study found absolutely no electoral peril to Democrats advocating Court expansion. www.huffpost.com/entry/expand... (I should say, there's zero reason to believe there's electoral peril now. There's plenty of reason -- the Court's deep unpopularity -- to think there could now be some upside.)

i am for it and SC expansion should be the #1 priority, but the argument for avoiding talking about it at least makes sense to me. there is good reason to think threatening their court would activate a gop base which is fairly unenthusiastic right now.
