Thats president pro temper, the longest serving member, who I think is Leahy. That was Grassleys part in J6.

Oh, right. I forgot about that. On January 6, though, isn’t a new Congress in session? So (a) I’m wondering how Grassley was still PPTem on 1/6/21 (was it just that Pence was the tiebreaker & thus the GOP still controlled the Senate?) And (b) there’s no guarantee who would be PPTem on 1/6/25.
