Getting a scholarship in Texas is HELL to begin with. The STEM and gifted students dominate the top 10% for starters since 6th grade. The kids know their rankings. You can't hide it from them. My daughter had a 3.7gpa and was in the 40th percentile. I wonder how the ATHLETES will be handled.

It would not surprise me if the data on scholarships (perhaps in more so in certain places) showed that they were granted to white students at a higher rate than non-whites. Of course skin color would not have been “officially” used in the decisions.
