highly politically engaged folks so completely misunderstand how most people engage with politics and this “her profile isn’t any bigger” stuff is part of it.
Most people don’t pay attention to governors of other states who are positioning themselves to run in 2028.

Which, historically, hasn't meant all that much. (see: Al Gore) She does have the advantage of actually running a presidential campaign, but I don't see anyone who would be an obvious automatic choice. (Course, I'd say the same of the GOP, which is why Trump is back)

Yes and America collectively votes on who VP noms are, you’re having a futile discussion trying to gain moral high ground on an unimportant issue that will almost certainly never happen
Maybe they're traditionalists and want to go back to the days where Secretary of State was the position of the heir apparent and the VP was a do nothing position?
