One thing you learn quickly in-house is the shockingly low quality of so much legal work (just based on what firm lawyers provide you to review), and this is even for "sophisticated" corporations as clients. For individuals who do not know better, it's a tragedy when lawyers are this incompetent

I was arguing with someone who thought *state* judges could shut down *federal* investigations of federal crimes by simply not issuing any warrants for them. When I pointed out fed courts and dual sovereignty exist they told me they were a lawyer so they were right.
