As a guide dog handler, YES! If a strange dog has a go at my dog, my training is to drop his harness. This leaves me trapped with an aggressive dog, but lets him escape. It’s happened. It’s terrifying. It’s what I remember every time we’re approached by an unleashed dog.

Am I the only one who just doesn’t enjoy party PCs who’re assholes? I’ve played the aloof emotionally repressed drow so on one hand I see the appeal, I guess.
On the other hand, I deal with enough real assholes. Why would I want to keep playing with a pretend one?

I’ve been loving how joyful Ncuti Gatwa’s doctor is, & this episode just took extremist eugenics, weapon industrial complex, AI alarmism & trauma & rolled it into an absolute shit salad. In Australia, some of them carry pumps and will drain the nearest backyard pool. In some fire zones, there’s regulations if you have a pool and want to fill it in because it will mean one less water source in case of fire.

Yes, & yes eliminating it is still eugenics. I think whenever we all decide we’re just not going to allow children with a particular genetic profile to be born any more, it should absolutely carry the historical weight of that word. Otherwise the line for what gets screened out can move really fast.

Somebody smarter than me should be building an algorithm for k-vector anticoagulation therapy. That’s what I’m saying. A wearable or implant that monitors INR in real time & an algorithm that can use individual historical data to adjust dose & warn of spikes/troughs.

Read a cool fandom essay a decade ago called “Fanfiction: Electrifying the oral tradition.” Premise was that fanfic readers wanted a story, not necessarily literature, so fic writers were using archetypal borrowings from the oral tradition instead of aiming for art.
