Interesting that when I started typing ‘Ger’ after ‘Tories’ the autocorrect suggested ‘gerrymandering’.

Allez les Bleus! (Seeing the Tories, Germany, and Portugal all kicked out in one day would be quite something.)

I'm sure that they were very thorough in their investigation, and that it was carried out without prejudice.

That's as maybe, but the party wasn't clever with the mood of the constituents.

The exit poll had Reform almost certainly winning Hartlepool, and they ended up with about half of the Labour vote, so some of the predictions seem to be *way* off.

I think the exit poll might turn out to be quite inaccurate in terms of seats won by Reform, though the vote share is worrying, yes.

Seems the exit poll was way off for Reform, thank god

The BBC talking about the swing from Lab to Reform, whereas former Lab voters may well have to Green, whose vote rose. A danger that the narrative might become that Lab has to chase those Reform voters rightwards rather than win back those on the left who were taken for granted.

I was in LA during the ‘97 election and it took hours to find the results, despite tuning in to CNN and the like. It was quite the eye-opener as to how important the UK was seen in our closest partner.

I haven't said it for a while, and usually it goes without saying, but it is important to do so from time to time: Fuck the Tories.

Still, we’ve then got three weeks ‘off’ before the start of the next academic year so that’s something.

Love to see everyone posting that their ‘out of office’ is on and that they’re going to work on their research, or go on holiday, when we’ve still another six weeks before the end of term.
