Obama? Mostly because Axelrod hates Biden and my theory is that in a CNN green room, he told haberman that if the Times put up enough pressure, Obama would get involved to get Biden out. There’s no group more opposed to a Biden second term then a certain pack of ex~Obama staffers.

Maybe I’m wrong but it feels like the Biden old thing doesn’t exactly convey Trump is 78 and can’t speak a complete sentence. The media playbook would hit better if Biden’s opponent was DeSantis but they never adjusted.

As others have noted, justices don’t have the staffing, resources, training or experience to handle the public spotlight. The only questioning they ever get is at confirmation - crying Kavanaugh dot gif - and they wilt. Full court press coverage would lead to meltdowns.
