2) POGO is fighting the good fight right now. They're nonpartisan & making sure US gov is good for the people. All people. Not focused on rep or dems. Lib or cons. But entity that creates & follows legislation that upholds a just & fair constitution…gov the way it’s intended and supposed to be. 🧑‍⚖️

So while today is definitely fueled by news, it also is a moment to uplift the community more than ever. And it’s a moment for me to give much deserved spotlight and heartfelt thanks to the individuals that truly propelled this work, Bird Names for Birds, and me, forward.

We are starting a new era in the history of birding and it couldn’t be more exciting. I may have been the spark or held the megaphone for this, but it truly was a community effort. It couldn’t have been more “of the [birds and] people, by the [birds and] people, for the [birds and] people.”

What a proud accomplishment for the advocacy, grassroots work fueled by @BirdNames4Birds over the past 3.5 years. The Bird Community is incredible and by taking this action our community and birds are only going to be better off.

I wanted to confirm that the closing date for applications is Oct 18. I've been perusing apps as they've come in, but will officially be reviewing them once the submission period is closed. In spite of the number of apps I'm hoping to have some first round interviews in early November.

Bird knowledge isn't required, but interest in learning would be great since we'll talk birds all the time.

Salary =$75-85k/year
