In light of the horrible allegations at one of my favorite authors I read this last year, & its about coming to terms with Art that resonates with you despite the awfulness of the person creating it. I think this is a very useful excercise

I didnt totally love the book, I didn't like where she went in some of the middle chapters, But there's art that hits you in great ways & sometimes it's made by people who do bad things.

A very, very long time ago I took an aesthetics class with a fantastic professor and one of the topics was how knowledge of the horribleness of an artist affects (or should affect) judgement of the art. It was quite interesting. It mostly revolved around Dalí, artistic genius and famous jerk.
