There are a lot of roads in rural France lined like this with plane trees, planted, it was said, so Napoleon's troops could march in the shade. Driving along one in early AM or late PM at 50-60 kph gives you a really nice epileptogenic f-f-f-flicker.

This is (I think) a piece of her stone given to her brother my grandfather to remember her by. His mother & father were dead.

I really admire this. I found a picture of my grandfather's sister on Find-A-Grave. She was born in 1861 & died in 1871 and the picture of her stone is about the only thing there is of her short life.
