Start with Dark Souls 1 or the Demon Souls remake and don't use a shield. It hampers your damage and you get much better defence timing your rolls as they make you invulnerable for a few frames. Beating Ornstein and Smaug made it click for me. And stay away from Sekiro...

I find each windows install gradually picks up ailments over time, to the point where no two installs match. It's the redistributables I find that cause issues when Visual C++ gets a minor update and breaks everything using specific older versions.

It's not bad. Usability is a bell curve, the average user will struggle while the nerds can use it to its full extent, and boomers wouldn't even notice, they just need to open a browser. Your average PC g*mer wouldn't be able to use it.

I switched back because I tried to play Yakuza 0, the redist dependencies were a mess. Switched to Mint and it works through Proton first time. Common issues: - Using a non-US keyboard was a pain, they have different configs for the login screen. - Multi monitors are a pain on non-free drivers.

It's all bullshit too. You can disable CPU checks in the installer. I had to use it when my mobo auto overclocked my CPU and it broke the CPU check when I needed at fresh OS temporarily.

You're just being contrarian. Obviously it is an approximation. Most figures are impossible to manufacture. There will always be tolerances. Let's say you produce two planks of wood, 2m and root 2m. Both are (+-0.1%) from their desired value. You wouldn't say the 2m plank wasn't 2m.

Password history is set to 24 by default now I think. And minimum password ages means you are changing it for 24 days. Just create a new password, add Q42023 on the end and purposely leak it to have your account constantly breached over years in order to make a case for non-expiring passwords.
