Sure you can. It’s weird times. You used to take the guy from the other party. You get the Joe from The Onion as VP again, and worry about the succession thing a bit but realize it’s double-lock system, would take two bad things, her and also him not lasting/being replaceable later. It’s the main viable answer, so I’ll keep mentioning. Creates implied continuity with Obama administration too, which people liked. And refocuses things on Dems being a team trying to beat fascism here. It’s like the Avengers.

He’ll be taking step back as part of what has always been a team after election, going back to VP, because he’s slowing down a bit now and trusts her. In case of succession needs, it’ll be fine, he can sort then out if it comes up. We trust him enough for that.
