Hmmm...I might disagree. Certainly Matthew (i.e. the Beatitudes) is a pretty damning indictment of the God of Israel; but in a way the very presence of Jesus/God on Earth in Mark is a powerful riposte; no longer the whirlwind, he's one of us. (NB the Q of whether Jesus in Mark is the Godhead...)
