Kids don’t make jokes -like race, kids don’t grow up seeing it. It’s just how people are. It’s when they get older that the evil comes out.

I honestly don't know the right answer, but if Biden is going to do this interview with Steph. tonight, he needs to break NEWS in it. Not just a "I'm not old" conversation. Gotta break real news - announce a Trump investigation. Something. Or else it won't work.

My quasi-tin foil hat belief: ostracizing non-related adults from socializing with children under the guise of abuse-prevention is often motivated by a desire to prevent children from trusting adults enough to tell them things that other adults do to them.

Cool. Now tell me where I can go easily watch these things. Because I’m way too fucking online, and I’m just not seeing them. And no, a YouTube medal of honor ceremony does not count.

I tend to agree with this, but I also wonder whether the incompetent advantages just a species of low N. These things happen so infrequently I’m not sure you can derive any implications from “data”

I get this and am not at all convinced any of this is happening in good faith. I also am starting to wonder why we aren’t getting live interviews (with non-b.s. interviewers) or Biden at the podium more.

Pretty sure the scotus has ruled consistently for 25 years that pres has virtually untrammeled power to arrest and imprison for NatSec reasons. Biden might want to consider this!

Complete agree. They need HR 1, PLUS court reform, DOJ prosecutions for what I assume is currently going on (rampant bribery) and some sort of presidential/congressional committee on democracy/constitutional reforms. At a minimum.

When mine died last year for three weeks, a bag of ice from the store in a big ol' cooler got us through just fine.

I'm a little surprised that the Western Democracies that will get F'd by a second Trump term (goodbye NATO) aren't doing more to get in the game here. Even covertly. Surely they have the means and some of the evidence.

I 100% believe that Trump and his world were surprised by the scope of the victory in the immunity case, and on the heels of the debate, the silence from them is because they are re-thinking their strategy. They are going to take big, big swings, folks.

So...everyone agrees that the President couldn't, like, murder his wife or steal someone's wallet, as those are unofficial acts. But doesn't the immunity case mean that nothing related to the presidency could come in as evidence (USSS testimony, WH security cams, phone records, etc.)?

This is insane. Effective habeas is already dicey; it ends under a Trump administration. Even if it wanted to rule against him, Trump will ignore even his own SCOTUS's orders.

The immunity decision is also a solvent against federalism - not just the "official acts evidence" issue to a state court prosecution of the President himself, but as collateral support for immunized pardons, legalized bribery to avoid state laws, etc.

The Silent Milley/Pelosi Administration of January 7-21, 2020 is probably of much larger relevance than we currently understand. Let's pray it doesn't start looming any larger.

At a certain point Biden is complicit if he doesn't do something. And I mean, actively complicit, not "well he's got a certain view of politics and his presidential power that not every shares"

Good thing this same Roberts court has repeatedly ruled that President can seize and render them to military sites. That's been legal going on 20 years now. First time Trump campaign gets a call from a foreign source, pick him up and send him to Gitmo under President's inherent NatSec authority.

I agree unreservedly with Biden's statement that he won't use the new illegal powers granted by SCOTUS, even if that would help him win and avoid a fascist government.
The issue is that the powers the president ALREADY HAD to stop all this aren't being used either.

At the nearest hint of foreign coordination (like the FBI/NSA had IN HAND and presented to the PRESIDENT in 2016), he needs to be seized and held.

Huh I guess in this extraordinary unprecedented case the court shouldn't have treated sentencing as business-as-usual ol' docket chore and let sentencing hang out there for months. Probably shoulda gotten on with it!

Absolute bullshit. The DA should have rejected as frivolous the notion that immunity could apply. Let the judge push the hearing.

He/the DOJ gotta be ready to raid offices if they get wind of foreign coordination. Obama botched it (and God knows what was happening in 2020); they can't let that happen again.

Hmmm...I might disagree. Certainly Matthew (i.e. the Beatitudes) is a pretty damning indictment of the God of Israel; but in a way the very presence of Jesus/God on Earth in Mark is a powerful riposte; no longer the whirlwind, he's one of us.
(NB the Q of whether Jesus in Mark is the Godhead...)
