If Congress can’t or won’t expand the Court, I’d love to see a Dem Congress (if that ever happens again) just zero out all support budget. In particular: no clerks. Hard to gut democracy AND hang out at billionaire mansions if you have to make up history entirely on your own.

Don’t need term limits. Just strong ethics reform where they can’t take a penny from outside etc and then they get no salary after 10 years on the bench.

We don't even need to entertain the "well they will be more likely to take bribes if they don't get paid well" bullshit. They already take bribes. Bribe taking is not connected to adequate financial compensation levels. Thomas has already said he would quit if the pay wasn't good. Let him quit.
