Really enjoyed my conversation with @parismarx.bsky.social about how the FBI secretly ran its own encrypted chat app to wiretap the world. If you want to understand what happens when police get a backdoor, *this* is the case. It's real, it happened, and people need to understand the implications.

In this case - police ran the house and it's back door in which it wiretapped users of the app/service. It was a creative solution to be sure. Since no customer could know - it would have been best if the FBI had been limited in the crimes it could pursue.
