Still going with my theory that the last good year of America was 1997, ending when news of the Clinton affair broke. Economy was booming. Avg gas price was $1.28/gal. Titanic made waves at the movies; a boy wizard got kids to read; peak Must See TV. Places were safe to go w/o fear of a shooting

The economists tend to agree but the slide started years earlier (with Reagan). It just took a while for the Republican greed agenda to spoil everything (NRA/guns, low taxes for the rich, squashing unions/retirement plans, pushing student loans, etc.) Clinton "affair". How quaint.... 🙄
