He is asking us to take the RBG leap. We have to trust that nothing at all happens between now and November because there aren't any second chances or backing out after the nomination. One Mitch freeze and Trump wins. That is a lot to ask.

The only consolation is that it won't matter. You can never be loyal enough. The founders who lived under the most benign authoritarianism understood that. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspici...

It will be just like Hong Kong. People will delete their socials that criticized Republicans and day to day life will continue. Unless you are a far left politician, in the non fox media, gay, trans, look like you are undocumented, or muslim. Then it will be like being black in the south in the 50's

Harris would have to enthusiastically support whoever was picked and that isn't exactly a characteristic we should expect from anyone at the level she is at in politics. Like I tell the 3rd party idiots - it's a binary choice only in this case it's Harris or Biden and the clock is ticking.

We all know how the system works. Sitting President says he is running and anyone who wants a future in the party doesn't run. This is all on Joe. He made the decision he owns it. I only hope there is an afterlife so he can sit up there with RBG and see what they have done.

In a world where retail competes with delivery the geniuses running these companies have decided that making the in person buying experience as painful as possible is the answer to that competition. Slash staff, self checkout, most items locked which can't be unlocked by the slashed staff.

It's not the content - the business model went away. First Craig killed classifieds - then ad exchanges made it possible to target the newspaper demo at scale, at a fraction of the cost of print, and with real time feed back. Vinyl made a comeback so I won't say never, but not looking good.

Relatives from rural MO came to visit SF - wanted a cheap motel to stay in - sent them to Lombard one of the safest urban places in the US. They thought they were in a war zone and when pressed it was because the front desk staff spoke english as a second language.

Yeah that is not the way it works in practice. She is pretty much the smartest person I know - she was moving from LA so it's not like they made it difficult for her because they thought she was coming from a CA. She is registered now but she had to be motivated and able to take time off of work.

The goal of UBI should be lower the poverty rate from 11% to 2%. Instead of holding people in a cycle of predatory lending + all the other costs of being poor. It would also create saving in other social programs. Finally the upper tax rate could go up from 32% to 38% not just on billionaires.

That is the name I couldn't remember. I loved the story about the guy who filled baseball bats and pretended to be part of the American team at thePan America games. He told the story after he made it through the border but didn't realize baseball wasn't a sport in the Pan America games.

I read a book on the early days of coke smuggling where they gave away a free trip to Columbia. Gave the winners all kind of fake company tschokies filled with coke. Then the winners had to come in for a photo shoot back in NY with the tschokies which were traded out during the shoot.

It seems like we are hitting a point where it would be cheap enough to pump water up hill during the day and let it flow down hill at night to generate more power. At least in the summer.

Why the left refuses to flex their power is baffling. The Dems represent 50 M more people in Congress than the R's and that doesn't even begin to take into account our buying power, but there is a complete blindness to exercising that power. X is a Nazi Bar. No one on the left should be engaging.

Purchase history targeting is fairly new. Buy a Hilton Head shirt your going to get NC Tourism ads. Buy a book on wills and are low income you will get inheritance lender ads. Amazon limits the medical purchases targeting, but once growth stops and the shitification starts that will go away.
