The election will be but I think the debates may well be the least consequential in history. The candidates are known quantities, few voters are up for grabs and I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets low ratings given how burned out most of us are.

I think there are a lot of people who are still so tuned out that they don't realize how unhinged Trump sounds and/or have warped views of Biden, and those people could benefit from watching. Probably doubtful many of them will, though.

I couldn’t be paid to hear Trump speak in real time. I think the entire time of his presidency I stuck only to transcripts after the fact.
