Reminds me that he has been doing almost daily public appearances throughout his entire presidency to promote policies and gets just about zero coverage.

This is no knock on Serwer specifically bc I think he is just nodding at a broader consensus, but it’s pretty telling that the implied “acceptable public appearances” for news media are all in some capacity w them. For them, this is about placating them first & foremost. Not about voters.
