Something that really annoys me is that if Stephanopoulos wanted to make this about Biden's cognitive ability, then he could have asked pointed and substantive questions about policy. Make Biden get into details, and put him on the spot. That would have had actual value for voters.

I do captioning for a living, & a big part of my job is cleaning up false starts & filler words. That has always been the norm at every media outlet. Print media edits Trump so carefully that you would never know what he actually sounds like. Doing this to Biden is a 180 from decades of policy.

This is why, imo, Biden is right to stick to campaign events and not give into the political news media feeding frenzy. Every press conference is just going to be 50 different ways of asking “are you dead yet” and there is exceptionally little value in that for Biden or for the public

I've noticed a few reporters are moving the goal posts even further & not just saying now that not only do the 9 public events that Bidens done since the debate dont matter & not only will the Stephanopoulos interview not count, but that bc his next press conference isnt the 11th means he's failing

As someone else has noted, what Biden is doing right now in regards to this stuff is extremely smart: he's noted that a bunch of elite reporters and monied interests want him out but that he knows that its the voters that chose him and he is not going to ignore the will of the voters.
