I mean, I would maybe even buy this record — it’s good music! But I’m not going to deliberately bring a 12x12 print of this image into my house!

Unfortunately, Rosali’s album cover is a blood-curdling nightmare.

Had an hour and a half to myself, and I thought “Why not stand in the river and bag a couple smallies?” Put ‘em back, obv.

Love it when you order something and then forget until it arrives. Surprise new vinyl day!

Cool! I’ve toyed with the idea of hiring a guide for the Ottawa River, too. Would be really cool to catch a gar, but they’re impossible to find, let alone catch, if you’re not with someone who knows what’s up.

Only started watching at half-time, but this England-Switzerland game seems pretty one-sided. Not sure this one is worth watching in its entirety...

We got some really wonderful news recently that my oldest daughter is allergic to neither cats nor dogs, and that means we're keeping our 10 year-old Sheltie, Zoé. It also means that my wife is going to bring a cat or maybe a lot of cats into our house again, very soon. I love cats, but I worry.

I would probably personally pay $50 for Auston Matthews' unvarnished opinion on the Leafs' draft and deadline.

Who had the better trade deadline? A corpse? Or the worst person you've ever heard of, now made entirely of Cheese Whizz?

Cool (I guess, maybe), but I think it remains a reasonable explanation for taking a haircut to play in Edmonton.

If the Leafs made the finals, there would be a lineup of UFAs that went out Brad Treliving's office and down Bay St. I'd probably do the same if I had already earned millions, especially in Skinner's case, since he's going to continue earning money to play against the Sabres.

It's hard to listen to journalists at the NYT ask serious questions about the logical/legal rationale behind decisions like the one from yesterday. Like... there isn't a *single* non-idiot who still thinks this is about the law or tradition or what's right.

I look forward to Zadorov decapitating some Leafs player with an elbow and the league doing absolutely nothing about it.

3 x $3.66M for Joe Woll isn’t crazy, but feels steep. I guess the Leafs don’t have another goalie and so their bargaining power was weak. But why not just sign Brossoit first, then?

Have my doubts Tanev will even be worth $4.5M even in year 1.

I think the line with him, Matthews and Bert worked well enough that the Leafs could spread out their talent. So that was good. But they should have paid less and for fewer years. And maybe paid it to someone else.

Well, I do cheer for France in international soccer tournaments, so I get to see winning from time to time. But even then, they usually find crushing ways to lose, even if I *can* get behind head butting rude Italians.

I get that in six years, the team is unlikely to be competitive, and so maybe we shouldn’t care, but paying guys top-4 money until they’re 40 seems unwise.

If Trudeau can hang on until Trump wins, will he get a boost in popularity when people remember what a monster Trump is? IIRC, he got a boost last time, as Canada had a reactionary leftward surge. Of course, maybe the Canadian right just gets all the stronger, I donno.

I think the fundamental flaw in this thinking is that Trump has always been horrifying, anti-democratic, etc. but for some bizarre reason gets a total pass on ALSO being incoherent?
