I agree. And for me, the problem was exacerbated by the direct comparison to Bioware's previous fantasy RPGs being set in the Forgotten Realms. FR is far from perfect, but it's vastly superior to the DA lore

My close family member worked at GS during its late aughts "glory days." GS paid them with prepaid Visa cards, not actual paychecks. The cards charged a fee to check the balance. GS forced them to come in the next day after being robbed in the store at gunpoint. Fuck Gamestop, now and forever.

The prohibition against players betting on "diamond sports" is a figleaf anyway. The fear is players will bet *at all*, lose, become indebted to bookies, & thus become susceptible to pressure to throw games or engage in other unsportsmanlike shenanigans. How does MLB policy address this at all?

I live in West Sac, just a couple miles away from the park. The biggest problem is infrastructure access. The 99-5-50 interchange is a nightmare in normal conditions without big league games. Parking is extremely limited, & public transit from Sac proper is poor. Tower Bridge is a drawbridge FFS

This is my point. It's plausible additional evidence will show Ohtani engaged in untoward if not illegal gambling. But that's not the simplest explanation right now. IMO, the simplest explanation is Mizuhara exploited Ohtani's trust to enable his addiction. Wouldn't be the 1st time an addict did so
