You can take just that into consideration but I’m not obligated to do so. I’m just trying to evaluate her journalistic argument in good faith. I really don’t care how she delivers it because I already know her style and find her reporting compelling.

she is making no journalistic argument lol. she's deflecting her embarrassment because she took a metaphor too seriously by pretending after the fact it had anything at all to do with anything of substantive. You're being naive in falling for it but I guess that's your prerogative!
