in hindsight i think it's telling how desperate trans people were/are for a social media that isn't so aggressively transphobic because the idea of something really strong for community defense was intoxicatingly appealing. it is unfortunate that it is a bad actor who we all trusted.

I’m of the opinion that trusting people is never a mistake. Yes, it can turn out to be that you trusted the wrong person, but the act of trusting them is not wrong in itself. We all do the best we can with the information we have at the time and learn for the next time.
