There are *a lot* of people who think AI can do things it cant. A city councillor where I live asked if AI could resolve a trains mechanical issues. Just braindead stuff.
Somehow the term "dumbest imaginable" seems inadequate when it comes to the delusional belief that AI is capable of duping hundreds of millions of Americans that Biden is not showing his age.
Maybe AI has become self-aware, is greedy, and is now acting in its own self interest. Maybe it is conducting a stealthy campaign for us to invest more in itself. It just writes posts saying that this or that would be better with more AI.
