Last week, my family and I headed to North Carolina to explore emerald mines. I liked "creeking," searching for rocks or minerals from rivers, streams, or, well, creeks. It's a ton of fun! Plus, I found two tiny emeralds and a tiny ruby (as well as other less precious minerals).

If all goes well I'll be starting my PhD in Education this August. I got accepted to my first choice Lesley University to study how multigenerational informal science programs affect STEM identity in marginalized learners. Wish me luck, because I'm gonna need it.

I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️‍🌈💖

Last night I joined my community and showed up in support of the First Amendment and the freedom to read at my local library commission meeting where book bans have been proposed, especially against books featuring LGBTQ+ characters and themes. Everyone should feel like they belong at the library!

I mean a total eclipse of the Sun is cool and all, but doing science with amazing people at Rochester Museum and Science Center is the best way to spend the day! #SolarEclipse2024 #STEM

Great talk on the #SolarEclipse2024 by @philplait.bsky.social at Rochester Museum and Science center. I had to fangirl a bit and get a picture. His book was the key to making kids curious when I started teaching middle school Earth Science years ago.
