We had to have a sewer line replaced last year for the exact same reason. The plumbers said it was totally normal in our area in older homes.

My last reply was a joke but they get you either way. If you don't take care of the landscaping, they get you for that. Or you water and things grow like normal and fuck up the pipes. It's dumb.
