I did not realize they had different robins in Europe, this explains why Am. ones are always so much bigger than I ever expect based on a many-decades-long steady diet of British novels and poetry.

I watched a video once where the person was extremely pissed off that the prop-makers in Mary Poppins had created an American Robin for the scene in “Spoonful of Sugar”, instead of the correct British one. That was how I learned about this. I always just thought they’d made a weird-looking robin. 🤣
