2 am. The Gunflibt Trail. Driving back to camp on Devil Track Lake after an emergency high-speed run to a vet in Duluth bc my dog had an allergic reaction to a bug bite. A moose wandered into the road and stopped and stared me down. It was huge and its eyes glowed in my headlight

…and then Freja erupted from the back seat, fully herself for the first time since the bug bite, ready to kick that thing’s ass even if it weighed a ton more than she did. The moose moved on to other things, probably for its own independent reasons
