I like them both <3 But I do like when I do something accurate because when I project something in my head but can't draw it as good as it is here, it's frustrating to me. So using those references helps me out and even when I know how to draw it, I still use them now and then!

Don't be afraid to use them a lot, it helps to build your knoweldge and have a better understanding of what you do. It's not cheating, it's helpful.
