Also seeing some accounts say that they let Assange go because they plan to kill him, which is obviously easier to do in public than in a prison.

Maybe Biden knows something about the forthcoming SCOTUS ruling on immunity that we don't, that might give warnings about future bad behavior a little more...oomph.
