Heatwaves can drive electricity demand for air conditioning past the safe limits of wires and transformers, causing blackouts when people need power the most. Deadly blackouts during heatwaves are happening more often as humans heat the planet by burning fossil fuels. And it's killing people.

We can stop this by quickly cutting greenhouse gas pollution, especially of fast-acting climate pollutants like methane, aka natural gas. We can invest in the grid, making sure infrastructure can handle demand spikes from air conditioning.
