as far as base of support: a leftist party has to be for The People, right? the workers, it’ll be pro-union. as someone whose day job is union organizer, good fucking luck getting union endorsements. union leadership is both tied to the democratic party, and pragmatic.

those donations to Democrats aren’t just “we like the Democrats,” they’re attempts to buy influence. where are you getting the money from to start a 50-start left wing party? small donations? who’s raising that money?
