Unfortunately, this baldly misstates the facts. He wasn't trying to "cover up a sex scandal" he was trying to deprive voters of basic information about his character before the election

Who deprived more voters of more essential information: A tabloid ally? Or mainstream media (like his hometown paper) who never pierced the veil of Trump's "businessman" mystique, or exposed the double-dealing trail of his ruinous frauds on customers, suppliers, lenders, taxpayers, et al?
