I remember this essay; it's pretty good, although the "we've been reading it all wrong" kinda ignores the fact that Jack Miles won a Pulitzer Prize in 1996 for reading it, essentially, the same way. Whatever - that's a pretty cranky comment for me to make honestly. I'm cranky today.
