Google āMassachusetts crisis pregnancyā and this link pops up. Itās part of a statewide campaign, including public signage (highway billboards!), urging people to avoid crisis pregnancy/anti-abortion centers.
The Commonwealth is not fucking around with this.

Iām not too surprised actually! By summer, vaccines have largely worn off and thereās usually a new variant showing up at about the same time. This supports boosters for some in the spring.

Masking should be more accepted than it is now, 100% agree on that.
Having just been in isolation for 10+ days, I am incredibly cognizant of the fact that not everyone can do this for a variety of valid reasons, and allowing someone who feels fine back to work could be a major difference for them

Summary report today remarks on someone bitten by a rabid cat who was reluctant to get rabies vaccine.
This is the wrong response. If you are bitten by anything rabid, please get vaccinated so you donāt die a terrible death.

One more point - Dr Michael Mina out of Harvard suggested a few times in various media that a quick, dark line suggests more virus and potential infectivity than a faint line. But of course, if any doubts, isolating is the safest decision.

Iām not sure - may be highly variable on the person. I felt fatigued and nondescript ānot greatā for a couple of days, but as soon as my sore throat appeared I tested positive. But a strong immune response doesnāt usually look like the exact illness, as many have prior to testing positive.

Based on my course of illness - I was still testing positive for a few days after my symptoms resolved. This was around 12 days from my first symptoms. For every other respiratory viral illness, no one would question that I was recovered and not infectious.

Also, I find it really hard to believe that someone who has been sick for a day but somehow not testing positive on a rapid test until day 3 is *not* infectious on day 1, but someone who is now asymptomatic for two days, 10 days post initial symptoms *is*.

I need to dig around the literature more, but with most other viral respiratory illnesses, infectiousness is highest right at onset of symptoms and lasts maybe 4-5 days at most, depending on a number of factors. I donāt have good reason to suggest this coronavirus would be dramatically different.

Certainly to be on the safe side, this is an option!
I just recovered from COVID and Iām fairly convinced that the last few days I was testing positive, I was not infectious. However, the rapid tests are just looking for antigen, not infectious virus.

Anyway got a great annual evaluation so I guess Iāll keep doing it.

Good morning from COVID day...12. I actually feel well and myself again.
This might be the day I leave COVID isolation in my house, although the rapid tests are not helping. (Still positive)

Dear COVID rebound: I need you to stop it, ok?
(I'm fine, it's just congestion and sneezing, but it's ANNOYING)
Also, is it rebound? Or am I suddenly allergic to something outside since I've been spending time outside?

Things I've done during COVID isolation:
-Watched seasons 5+6 of The Crown, Baby J, and Twister, plus some Celtics games
-Did about three hours of work
-Reviewed some survey data
-Started a Mental Health First Aid course
-Memorized a few quatrains of the Rubaiyat
-Napped a little every day

This is my current plan (public health person who presently has COVID):
Strict isolation for five days - I'm in one room, windows open, fan going, mask on except for eating/sleeping
Strict masking for at LEAST another five days
Possibility of going back into isolation if I get rebound.

You know I appreciate that Pfizer is in the vaccine and Paxlovid game, but that almost feels like a conflict of interest.
āOh did our $130 vaccine not work? The treatment is only $1,651.99ā
Thank god I hit my deductible before this.

Treated kiddoās scraped knees yesterday and reassessed today.
Kiddo: you are good at medical stuff
Me: I am, do you know why?
Kiddo: ā¦oh because you used to drive an ambulance! and sometimes help people
I may have flinched inside but Iāll let my kid call me an ambulance driver.

I wish I had this in a library when I was a teen.
I had such trouble figuring out who I am that I decided to pretend to be straight for 10+ years cause that was a lot easier.
Iām still exploring and defining. Which is why itās so important to continue to have LGBTQ+ events and info out there.

Iām not entirely sure what broke between my doctorās office and CVS but itās been about a week since Iāve tried to get a prescription refilled and itās still not filled.
Unfortunately both the pharmacy staff and the office staff are overworked and grumpy.
