My stepmother legit switched the movie off halfway through because "it's just about how girls can be anything they want, and we already know that, this movie sucks." That's, y'know, THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT THE MOVIE IS SAYING. And wouldn't make it a bad movie anyway.

I saw Metropolis with live organ accompaniment and it was the single worst film experience of my life. Huge spotlight on the organist the entire film. House lights came up to emphasise every dramatic moment. Flashing colored lights during action scenes. Film lasted less than 2 hours.

This is only true if you count this as the start of the movies. It gets pretty question-beggy, really. Plenty of room to argue theatrical exhibition is key, therefore anything without it falls into a different category. Or go with the Theatre Opaque or magic lantern shows as the starting point...

Eyes Wide Shut played at my local indie last month. The cinema's website listed it at 187 minutes, which is...wildly wrong. The same cinema kept rebooting their projector at the start of Lawrence of Arabia because there was no picture. 🤷♂️
