sorry, did I understand correctly that for every ton of CO2 (whenever it is released) it takes about 1 century for the 1st half of it to be absorbed, but it takes about 400,000 years for the 2nd half to be absorbed (both related to the natural carbon cycle) ? 🙏

Yep, though the first 80% or so is in the first 1000 years. However, because the oceans are still heating up the warming from CO2 emitted today persists relatively unchanged for millennia even as concentrations decline.
