I feel like I have a general "responsible adult" bar, which can be depleted by work, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. And when it's done, I want to eat ice cream while reading or playing video games.

Oh my, yes. A related version is the "Ben's music x mood meter" - I *always* have headphones on at work (the building is very loud and I usually have my door open so students can find me)... but I want a meter that goes from green to orange to red to *no* that reflects what I'm listening to
