People will tell me they're autistic as a way to pre-emptively explain why they act differently, and then they act in a way that's completely logical to me? I grew up with an autistic mother and 2 brothers before I knew what autism was, so I really suck at differentiating 'allistic' from 'autistic.'

You can't compare the two films because they are completely different takes on the source material. Too many people wanted it to be like the Gene Wilder version and got mad that it wasn't. I thought it was fun, but I've never seen the 1971 film.
