“Immunocompromised people shouldn’t be gathering in large groups anyway” is making me cry today, man. They’re saying the quiet part out loud and the only people I see really making noise about this are those of us who will be completely shut out of public life if these bans go through

The other critical thing here is that “but they’re only talking about protests” ignores the fact that harassment has gotten worse, will continue to get worse as masks become further stigmatized, and will 100% be used by cops to target BIPOC maskers whether or not they’re in a protest/big group
