I’m not saying I don’t enjoy writers’ social media! I follow a lot of writers. This is for non-fiction, and for this one topic/book. They’re introducing something as (to my eyes) a "grand" observation of 'new science' I’ve been aware of since a PhD student, that naturally enough I got from others.

There’s authors I’ve stopped reading (and following on social media) because I suddenly knew too much about their personal lives and could see where it popped up in their work. “Oh, this is an allegory for your mommy issues … again.” Kinda like Steven King writing about evil cars after his accident
