As someone with 60+ years of dairy experience (farm kid, farmer, University Ext educator, and dairy pharma sales rep: These people are nuts.

They're taking unnecessary risks so they can "feel" better about their dairy consumption.

What's the title of that @radiofreetom.bsky.social book again?

Room and board for choring and field work on a Iowa dairy and hog farm, aged ~5-6 till HS graduation. Toss in a bike at 10 and dirt bike at 14. Someday I'll cash in those shit-loads of character I accumulated.😜

Hello Bluesky! My first post is to highlight "White Rural Rage" by @paulwaldman.bsky.social and Tom Schaller. It's an accurate encapsulation of how rural America has lost its way - and can find a path forward.

It's the best and most informative read since Frank's "What's the Matter with Kansas".

Good interview - well done. The authors are spot-on in holding rural voters responsible for electing people whose legislation undermines their communities. Democrats try to do the right things and occasionally succeed. Republicans don't even try.
