Publication 🚨 - In "Fighting Fakes on WhatsApp—Audience Perspectives on Fact Bots as Countermeasures", we used qualitative interviews with German messenger users (22- 78) to to understand people's expectations and concerns when 🤖 are used to deliver facts or fact-checks via 💬.

Funny but true #IchbinHannah story, I have worked on this paper while being employed at three universities in two countries, moving more than 600 km twice, and living in four different apartments.

Drawing from the technology acceptance model, we identified 4 central themes: (1) questionable advantages in terms of ease ⏱️; (2) perceived usefulness for educating others ➡️ (not oneself); (3) perceived injunctive norms between safety and privacy 🔐/🛡️; and (4) distrust towards information curators 🤔
