Silvio Waisboard closes the comments with calling for the need to account for differences between countries, attacked sholars, perpetrators , and the need to understand better the size of the problem. But also shows how organisations have to reflect potential reputation risks when taking action.

Very important also Michael Wagners perspective on the anti-science playbook: showing how selective information is abused, send to partisan newsoutlets, and then trick journalists into striving for balanced coverage. Political rights are abused to bind resources and funding is attacked.

Absolut anders läuft es bei den meisten Professor*innen, musste bei der Liste (!) An gekauften Autos doch sehr lachen- aber wichtiger Punkt: Laut Jaroch sei das wirksamste Mittel (gegen die geschilderten Praktiken des Drittmittelgeschäfts) ausreichend Grundfinanzierung durch Bund und Länder(...).
