So, despair is the enemy. There are tons of people on this site that I really like, but I’m going stop posting and reading the skyline for a little while to avoid encouraging said enemy. I do have a couple DMs about non-politics related things to do, but I’m going to avoid SCOTUSposting, etc.

You are being overly charitable, mostly they don’t think that the bad things were actually bad things.

But if lefties hated Biden before 10/7, then what’s happening in Gaza can’t be what causes them to hate Biden. I wish the left had turned on Biden over his support for Israel but they didn’t.
Also one can make a similar point to the boat without being a flaming choad, see:

Gaza isn’t really relevant to the argument, because Mr. boat et al hated him before that too. Also, you can search his feed and pretty easily find thing where he laments the lack of concern for Palestinian lives, calls Israel an apartheid state, etc.

The (online doomer) left didn’t turn on Biden over Gaza, they hated him before that. Why would Biden care what a bunch of irony poisoned weirdos who said he was a union buster to the right of Reagan think?

“Lose” credit. Because if I look back to his tweets from before 10/7 he was a definitely a Biden Stan.

Seeing some radical academics decided that yes, they can make common cause with reactionary freaks over hating liberals, the early days of Italian Fascism are making more sense to me.

3) is, eh? Harris is better on the Palestinian’s basic humanity, which is big deal to a lot of them.

This is basically a cognitohazard of a political campaign for everyone who has an unhealthy investment in politics, but the more o think about it the better it sounds.

Comma failure is a gentle way of saying that the revealed preferences of large portions of the left is that they do not in fact care about labor rights, economic inequality, or the environment, but rather about presenting themselves as someone who cares about these things.

“We can’t replace Biden with someone who is less hostile to Palestinians” is IMO an extremely underrated factor in why all these radical centrists want to try some sort of triple bank shot rather than going with the fucking VP.

Harris is pretty close to Biden on most issues but is noticeably more sympathetic to Palestinians, and Bret Stevens would take Trump before that.

I don’t disagree, but it’s not like that argument was winning on October 6th. Before I/P it was student loans or inflation or Dobbs or the $600 or breaking the rail strike that made it impossible to support Biden.

All I can say is that, for as shameful as Biden has been on I/P, Netanyahu and Ben-Gvir and Smotrich all badly want Trump to win, so I’m pressing the “Make Kahanists sad” button in November.

I say this a a liberal, but libs are the biggest fucking marks on the planet. The NYT spends years as a gleeful participant in Bannon and Rudy’s ratfucking, and when it pays off libs buy the keyfabe and subscribe en masse as an anti-Trump move.

Extremely funny that you allegedly want to get Joe a Biden out of power but aren’t actually willing to use the power you have to achieve that, instead you’ve convinced yourself posting is praxis. I guess, given your preference for fascists over liberals, I’m grateful you’ve so willingly given up.

Once again
1) transphobic nepo baby takes over the family business
2) said business prospers under Republicans and struggles under Drmocrats
3) said business is getting investigated by Biden’s NLRB
Given 1+2+3 you should have a very solid guess as to whether said bigot wants Trump or Biden to win.

If you’re wondering why the nyt editorial board would demand Biden drop out for a bad debate performance but not Trump after being liable for sexual abuse, the answer is simple: they’re angrier about Biden ending the war in Afghanistan than they’ve ever been about anything Trump has ever done

Joke: Trump will be get inflation under control
Woke: Trump’s policies will be horribly inflationary, buy TIPS.
Bespoke: Under Trump the BLS will be staffed with political hacks who lie about inflation to please their boss, TIPS will be useless because they use government numbers.

The Democratic Party elite (broadly defined) is 75% people who would absolutely hide their zombie bite from their ragtag group of survivors, and 25% people who can’t imagine that anyone would ever hide something like that.

Interesting mental exercise is what’s the minimal level of change to the constitution that could plausibly unfuck it.
My vote: change the threshold for removal from office to just be majority of house votes to remove.

2) interacts in very, very frightening ways with climate change. “Just” 10 years of autocracy by cranks who want to pump as much carbon into the atmosphere as possible and destroy any international cooperation has, optimistically, a body count in the 8 figures and a price tag in the trillions.
