Farmer protest Many explain farmer protests with politics or policies, grievances or ideology. I think the reason is much simpler. Farmers have benefited greatly from record-high food prices, a consequence of Russia's war. Those price have come down. Farmers are unhappy about that.

Diese Woche sind die Strompreis (Cal-27 base futures) unter 60 €/MWh gefallen. Das ist der Wert, der letztes Jahr als Industriestrompreis herumgereicht wurde. Wer einen solchen Industriestrompreis also haben wollte, kann ihn jetzt haben.

European commodity prices are collapsing Gas 23 €/MWh, down 60% since the beginning of the winter. Lowest price since May 2021. Carbon 50 €/t, down by half within a year. Power 68 €/MWh, a level last seen in April 2021.

The energy crisis is over - not when it comes to balancing reserve prices. Last year, aFRR (aka as secondary reserve) has been more expensive than any other year in recent history in Germany. One reason being that DSOs let battery developers wait (and pay) for a grid connection.

ENTSO-E recommends dropping production-based CfDs and moving to benchmarked CfDs.
Two options are mentioned: their own capability-based CfD and the financial CfD we have proposed (www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...)

European gas is cheap compared to past months and years. But it is expensive compared to prices in the US. Henry hub prices have dropped below 5 €/MWh, 80% below TTF levels. The EU price drop is great news for residential consumers, but just a crumb of comfort for producers of tradable goods.

Electricity spot prices in Finland spiked last week, briefly reaching 2000 €/MWh. With loads of consumers on real-time pricing contracts, demand responded with a massive 10% reduction. This kind of stuff is why we have markets.

Dass die Bundesregierung Finanzlücken durch eine Erhöhung des CO2-Preises schließt, ist gut. Mehr gibt es da gar nicht zu sagen. Wenn man unbedingt jammern will, könnte man sich beschweren, dass dafür eine Finanzierungskrise notwendig war.

Der geplante Bundeszuschuss von 5.5 Mrd zu den Übertragungsnetz-Entgelten kommt wohl nicht. Wie viel erhöhen sich deswegen die Netzentgelte? Meine Rechnung: 5.5 Mrd. / (520 TWh Stromverbrauch - 70 TWh von Entgelten befreite Industrie) = 1.2 ct/kWh ÜNB sagen: >3ct. Kann mir das jemand erklären?

Ich finde die politische und mediale Diskussion um die BVerfG-Entscheidung zum KTF bemerkenswert. Es ist ja kein Geld weg. Es besteht ja auch kein neuer Finanzierungsbedarf. Es gibt ja keine echte Finanzlücke. Es geht ja nur um, wenn ich das mal so sagen darf, Verbuchung.

Ich finde die jetzt gefundene Einigung zum Industriestrompreis eigentlich ganz vernünftig. Schade, dass die Stromsteuersenkung nicht für private Haushalte gilt. Auch schade, dass die unsinnigen Netzentgelt-Rabatte für gleichmäßigen Stromverbrauch nicht angegangen wurden. Trotzdem: ganz vernünftig.

TB zum Nutzen-statt-Abregeln-Instrument, dass nun via EnWG kommt: "Eine enorm komplexe und detailversessene Regulierung ist notwendig, um Fehlanreize und Missbrauch im Rahmen der geplanten Auktionen des überschüssigen Stroms zu unterbinden." Trifft es ganz gut, finde ich.

Wenn man einen Schritt zurück macht und mal drüber nachdenkt ist es schon sehr bemerkenswert, dass es gerade die Grünen sind, die für eine Subventionierung des Energieverbrauchs der Schwerindustrie kämpfen (aka Industriestrompreis).
