I still feel very shit tier with how difficult every step is and my fandom is still quite small id say. So I wouldn't say I'm much of a name yet so, yeah, every kind word still hits very hard. Every little boost to keep trying really pushes me forward. It helps counter all the mocking and hatemail.

I am terrible with names tbh, I tend to find a regional term that suits the character and often modify it a bit for better flow or not to just rip something. Like her name just means little serpent in old german if i remember correctly, playing on her being a runt. Then I just messed with it a bit.

Exactly, iterate, iterate, iterate. A big lesson is knowing when to say fuck it and just keep sketching or say good enough etc. Part of why almost every piece I do starts with a sketch page of like 20 crude mockups to feel out before any effort starts.

That is the nature of art. fill hundreds of sketchbooks just to be -sortof less bad-. I highly suggest practicing iterative drawing (give a time limit to do a sketch and repeat fast to learn to focus on the important stuff). A helpful book for me as well is Drawing Wildlife by J C Amberlyn

No worries mate, happy to put things out there and know folk are enjoying it <3 to answer, spent most of my life doing videogame/3D design. Didnt start focusing on my art till like 8ish years ago. Never too late, just fail a thousand times, then fail a thousand more. The learning hump sucks.
